Terms and Conditions
ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY, AS APPLICABLE. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STATED HEREIN AND ANY OTHER RULES OR TERMS OF WHICH GIVE YOU NOTICE IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST (COLLECTIVELY, THE “TERMS”). UNLESS YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS IN THEIR ENTIRETY, YOU (1) MUST NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST AND (2) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE PRIZES UNDER THE CONTEST.
Eligibility. Collegiate Games Challenge 2025 (the “Contest”) is open to students currently enrolled in participating universities listed on the Collegiate Games Challenge website (https://collegiategameschallenge.com). The submitting individual must be a resident of the United States, enrolled in their participating university during the 2024-2025 academic year and at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of submission pursuant to Section 3. Third parties associated with the submitting individual/team who are not enrolled in the participating university may be utilized to create the projects that form a Submission, but such third parties are not eligible. Employees, officers, directors and contractors of GGP, and their respective immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such individual are not eligible. The Prizes awarded to the Winners shall be solely provided by GGP. There is no purchase necessary to enter. Participation in the Contest constitutes Participant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and GGP’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a Prize is contingent upon the Participant fulfilling all requirements set forth herein and adherence to the Contest’s rules available at https://collegiategameschallenge.com/rules. The Contest includes the following three categories: Interactive Category, Cinematic Category, and Business Category. The Interactive Category is intended only for original games developed by student teams. The Cinematic Category is intended for students to create video game trailers, whether through live action, CGI, gameplay capture, or a hybrid approach, that demonstrates both creative flair and strategic communication. The Business Category is intended for students to create a comprehensive go-to-market plan for one of four upcoming and publicly announced video games as listed in Section 8(c) of these Terms.
Sponsor. This Contest is organized by, and all Prizes for the Contest shall be provided by GG Professionals, Inc. (“GGP”), a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code duly organized in the State of California and located at 15021 Ventura Boulevard #1027, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403.
Registration and Submission Period. In order to be considered for the Contest, individuals (and all team members, as applicable) must register at https://collegiategameschallenge.com/submit by submitting a completed Terms and Conditions Agreement Form (each a “Participant”) along with their Submission. Submissions for the Contest open on June 1, 2025 and shall remain open through June 15, 2025, at 11:59pm PT (“Submission Period”). Finalists of the Contest will be announced on July 31, 2025 via the Collegiate Games Challenge website available at https://collegiategameschallenge.com. Winners of the Contest will be announced on or around August 31, 2025 via a live stream on Twitch.tv at https://www.twitch.tv/gaygamingpros and each Winner will be notified pursuant to Section 5.
How to Enter. During the Submission Period, Participants may submit an entry via https://collegiategameschallenge.com/submit adhering to all themes and stated requirements within the Contest’s rules available at https://collegiategameschallenge.com/rules, as applicable for each of the three categories; provided that, in order to qualify for a Prize: (i) within the Interactive Category, the submitted game must be submitted via a store link to Steam, Epic Store, or itch.io, including a token for unlimited access to the playable build, or for mobile and browser-based games, a link to the test build or website where the game is playable; (ii) within the Cinematic Category, the submitted trailer must be submitted via a YouTube link; and (iii) within the Business Category, the submitted go-to-market plan must be submitted via an Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) or Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt) file (“Submission”) by no later than June 15, 2025, at 11:59pm PT. Limit two (2) Submissions per category per individual/team for each participating university, regardless of method of entry. GGP reserves the right to confirm a Participant’s eligibility for the Contest with each participating university and to the extent that Submissions are received in excess of the stated limitation, to select the two (2) Submissions from a participating university. Submissions received from any individual/team for each participating university in excess of the stated limitation and/or after the Submission Period will be void. GGP reserves the right to change or omit individual/team names, particularly if they are, in GGP’s sole discretion, offensive or obscene, or violate the intellectual property of others.
Finalists and Winner Selection. All eligible Submissions in each Contest category shall be evaluated by a panel of up to five (5) judges, all of whom have game development and/or general industry experience, selected by GGP and, in their sole discretion, such panel of judges shall determine up to seven (7) eligible Submission from each of the three categories of the Contest to advance to the final round of selection. Judges will then select Gold, Silver, and Bronze prize winners from each Contest category (“Winner(s)”) based on quality, creativity, and relation to the judging rubric. Winners will be contacted by GGP from the following e-mail address: info@collegiategameschallenge.com. GGP will attempt to notify each Winner one (1) time at the e-mail at the address provided in its registration. If any Winner does not respond to the e-mail notification within five (5) days of its transmission, the prize will be automatically forfeited.
Prizes. Prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories:
Interactive Category. GGP shall award: (i) Twenty Five Thousand U.S. Dollars (US$25,000) to the Gold Winner; (ii) Fifteen Thousand U.S. Dollars (US$15,000) to the Silver Winner; and (iii) Five Thousand U.S. Dollars (US$5,000) to the Bronze Winner(each a “Interactive Prize”). All Interactive Prizes shall be paid within sixty (60) days following the announcement of Winners live stream held on or around August 31, 2025. To receive the Interactive Prize, each Winner (including all individual team members, as applicable) must complete and execute applicable documentation provided by GGP, including, but not limited to relevant tax forms and funds usage agreements. A Winner will forfeit their Interactive Prize if they fail to complete and execute the required documentation within the stated time period. In the event of a forfeiture, an alternative winner may be selected.
Cinematic Category. GGP shall award: (i) Twelve Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$12,500) to the Gold Winner; (ii) Seven Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$7,500) to the Silver Winner ; and (iii) Two Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$2,500) to the Bronze Winner (each a “Cinematic Prize”). All Cinematic Prizes shall be paid within sixty (60) days following the announcement of Winners live stream held on or around August 31, 2025. To receive the Cinematic Prize, each Winner (including all individual team members, as applicable) must complete and execute applicable documentation provided by GGP, including, but not limited to relevant tax forms and funds usage agreements. A Winner will forfeit their Cinematic Prize if they fail to complete and execute the required documentation within the stated time period. In the event of a forfeiture, an alternative winner may be selected.
Business Category. GGP shall award: (i) Twelve Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$12,500) to the Gold Winner; (ii) Seven Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$7,500) to the Silver Winner; and (iii) Two Thousand Five Hundred U.S. Dollars (US$2,500) to the Bronze Winner (each a “Business Prize”). All Business Prizes shall be paid within sixty (60) days following the announcement of Winners live stream held on or around August 31, 2025. To receive the Business Prize, each Winner (including all individual team members, as applicable) must complete and execute applicable documentation provided by GGP, including, but not limited to relevant tax forms and funds usage agreements. A Winner will forfeit their Business Prize if they fail to complete and execute the required documentation within the stated time period. In the event of a forfeiture, an alternative winner may be selected.
Publicity Release. Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Contest constitutes each Participant’s (including all individual team members, as applicable) consent for GGP to utilize their name, likeness, image, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown, state, and/or country for furtherance of the Contest and for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration. Each Participant further agrees that their Submission may appear on the Collegiate Games Challenge’s website, GGP’s website, social media (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, and Discord) and on the GGP Twitch channel. Winners may also be required to sign and return a further release of liability, declaration of eligibility and, where lawful, a publicity consent agreement, as a condition of receiving a Prize. Failure to comply with the aforementioned conditions shall be grounds for forfeiture of a Prize.
Intellectual Property; Limited License to GGP; and DISCLAIMER.
Ownership. Participants retain all rights, title, and interest in and to their respective Submissions, including all associated intellectual property rights. A Submission does not grant GGP or any affiliated entities any ownership rights in the Submission except as expressly provided herein.
Limited License to GGP. By submitting a Submission, each Participant grants to GGP a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable, and perpetual license to use, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, and create derivative works from portions of the Submission solely for the purposes of promotion, marketing, and documentation of the Contest and future iterations of the Collegiate Games Challenge.
Disclaimer. PARTICIPANTS MAY PREPARE AND SUBMIT GO-TO-MARKET PRESENTATIONS THAT REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED VIDEO GAMES AND CORRESPONDING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: MARIO KART WORLD, GRAND THEFT AUTO VI, MARATHON, AND NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL. GGP EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY INTEREST, AFFILIATION, ENDORSEMENT, SPONSORSHIP, OR OFFICIAL CONNECTION WHATSOEVER WITH THE FOREGOING VIDEO GAMES AND CORRESPONDING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, BRANDS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS OR AFFILIATES. PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR USE OF ANY THIRD-PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN CONTEST SUBMISSIONS IS AT THEIR OWN RISK. EACH PARTICIPANT MUST ENSURE THAT THEIR SUBMISSION(S) DO NOT INFRINGE UPON ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (INCLUDING COPYRIGHT, TRADEMARK, AND PATENT RIGHTS), PROPRIETARY RIGHTS, TRADE SECRETS, PERSONALITY RIGHTS, RIGHTS OF PUBLICITY, PRIVACY RIGHTS, CONTRACT RIGHTS OR RESTRICTIONS, OR OTHER RIGHT OF ANY THIRD-PARTY. PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD GGP HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO THIRD-PARTY IP VIOLATIONS ARISING FROM THEIR SUBMISSION.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). While the Collegiate Games Challenge values innovation, the Contest is a student showcase—Submissions must reflect original thinking and purposeful direction by the Participants. AI tools may be used in the creation of Submissions, but human creativity and oversight must remain central. All Submissions must disclose if AI was used, including listing any specific tools used in creation of the Submission. Submissions that show a lack of human input, authorship, or review may be disqualified in GGP’s sole discretion.
Release of Liability; Indemnification. Participant agrees to release and hold harmless GGP and its subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and their officers, directors, employees and agents, and the individuals serving as judges for the Contest, and their respective companies of employ, and the officers, directors, employees and agents thereof, (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of Participant’s participation in the Contest, including without limitation that Participant’s Submission infringes upon any common law or statutory rights or intellectual property rights of any third-party, or Participant’s receipt, use, or misuse of the Prize or any component thereof.
Limitations of Liability. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Participant, printing or transcription errors or by any of the equipment, platforms or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in network hardware or software; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the registration process or the Contest; (iv) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of registrations and/or Submissions; or (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Participant’s participation in the Contest or receipt, use, or misuse of the Prize or any component thereof.
No Class Action; Waiver. By participating in the Contest, each Participant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, this Contest or any Prize awarded (if applicable) shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Los Angeles County, California; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual and verifiable out-of-pocket costs incurred, including but not limited to costs associated with entering this Contest but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (iii) to the extent allowed by applicable law, under no circumstances will Participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental and/or consequential damages and/or any other damages, other than actual and verifiable out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
Governing Law. These Terms and the rights and obligations of any Participant or GGP in connection with the Contest shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other state’s laws.
Severability; Interpretation. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Terms shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In the event there is an inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, notifications, or announcements and these Terms, these Terms shall prevail, govern and control.
General Conditions. GGP reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond GGP’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by GGP in its sole discretion. GGP reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual or Participant it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be in violation of these Terms or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any individual or Participant to deliberately undermine the operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, GGP reserves the right to seek damages from any such individual or Participant to the fullest extent permitted by law. GGP’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Modification and Change to Contest Terms. GGP further reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time and without notice, and it is each Participant’s responsibility to review these Terms for any changes. After changes have been made to these Terms, a Participant’s continued participation in the Contest constitutes an acceptance to all changes.
